Finger snaps of destiny.

Half of life crumbling away.

We’re in the endgame now.

The fallen must be avenged.

The movie I suppose, needs no introduction so I will just get down to it. Anyone who has seen the trailers will know it was a serious cloak-and-dagger business. After watching the movie though, you could see that when every little detail in the movie is a spoiler, you don’t have much to play with. I don’t have much either in this review.

For those of you who have been keenly following Marvel’s Cinematic Universe since its very first movie, the advent of Avengers: Endgame could well mark the official end of their childhood. Sticking to that logic, my childhood essentially began a month ago and reached its end ever so quickly. For me, the MCU crash-landed into existence merely a month ago when I defied the odds to live the entire tale, from Iron Man to the then-grossing Captain Marvel, all within a span of six days. Quite an accomplishment. That’s probably my only movie-watching accomplishment and I don’t think I am ever bettering it.

A soldier till the last breath.

Striving for greater good.

It was about time.

You bet he is worthy.

Ever since Avengers: Infinity War dropped a pile of incendiaries on the fans, waiting for the movie with such burning questions in mind, was a true test of patience. For months leading up to its release, Endgame had become this examination that people around the globe studied for with utmost seriousness.

Cool, calm and collected.

Alter ego, not so much.

Put the brains and the brawn together.

Will the Incredible Hulk return?

Four days prior to release, the internet was full of spoilers. Leaked clips had taken social media by storm. Two days before the release, all the anticipation was thrown out of the window as the entire movie was available online for free. Vigilance was key. Staying clear of people who had already bitten the bullet but also people who had nothing to do with the movie but had deliberately read the spoilers to threaten sincere people like me.

The rumble of the heavens.

Cracking open the skies.

He came so close.

Just didn’t go for the head.

But, I managed to get to the theatres relatively unscathed. I will try and keep this bit as vague as possible. The whole plot might seem outlandish in spite of outlandish being ground zero for MCU, but I suppose it was the only way out. Too vague? Go figure. The best thing was, the movie wasn’t just doused in action which I thought it would be. It was hilarious throughout, heart-warming at times, and just had everything.

Bunch of black-suited bashers.

With a lot of red on their ledgers.

Both wish to wipe it out.

But who will do it first?

People naturally found it hard to keep quiet when it got to the climax but the atmosphere blended nicely with movie. As if the cheering and hooting was meant to be a part of it. The movie was always going to make the big bucks even if it had been downright terrible so money shouldn’t really be a measure of its success.

Once a warmonger.

Now a jaded gladiator.

The inevitable beckons.

He is Iron Man.

You could argue that just as a movie, Infinity War does outshine Endgame but the huge amount of sentiment attached to this film makes it way more wholesome. It is the kind of movie whose score was more or less decided even before it was released. A perfect 10 on 10.
